CAMOUFLAGED BOX

Students and parents of students should read my introduction to letterboxing before seeking the boxes.

Be sure to read through all the clues before looking for the boxes so you know what is expected of you.

Clues:

Start out at the foot of the sign out front of Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School at the beginning of the driveway.

First, take the number of T’s on the sign and multiply it by 22 and keep it as T= ______.
That’s the number of steps north west you’ll need to go.

That will take you to a patch of ever greens on the other side of the road. Count the number of evergreens that you see there and keep it as E = ______

Next walk north along Division Road until you get to the environmental classroom sign. There is a date on the sign. Multiply the year by the number of evergreen trees (E), then divide that by 150. That will be the number of steps needed to get to the next clue.  Record this number as Y = ______. (Round Y to the nearest whole number)  Facing the paths from the sign, walk down the right-hand path Y steps.

This will take you to a picnic table, when you get there, take the year from the sign and find its square root. Then take the square root multiply by 3 and add (100/E), and that’s the number of steps you need to take to get to the next clue. Continue on the right path to get there.

You’ll eventually get to a fork in the path you need to go right. Take the number of steps you got from the last equation and divide it by T. Multiply it by 10 to get the number of steps to the next clue.  You should be at a picnic table next to a pond with an island in the middle.

From the picnic table, walk on the left path till you get to another fork, go on the right trail. Take this up until you leave the trails and hit the football field at the top of the hill. Once you reach the top of the hill, take the asphalt path right around the football field and track facing the bleachers. Go until you reach the football scoreboard. Take the number of digits capable for the home team’s score and multiply it by 12E = D  D= ________.

Walk to the large shed at the top of the hill, look at the school, and count the number of garage doors on the school.  Multiply that by D and subtract by (T/3) keep as G = ________.

Walk to the flag pole out in front of school, take the number from the last equation and multiply that by 5 and take that number and find what 18% of it would be (L=______). Take L steps down the driveway.

You’ll see a patch of 2 evergreens. In order to find out which one the box is hidden in you need to know that the one on the right is equal to -178,347 and the one on the left is equal to -185. Find the determinant of the matrix below. The determinant is the tree it is in.

BEFORE RETRIEVING THE BOX, BE SURE NO ONE IS AROUND TO SEE YOU TAKE THE BOX OUT!  DO NOT BRING ATTENTION TO YOURSELF OR THE HIDING LOCATION OF THE BOX!

Good luck!
