Directions to Make a Tessellating Pyramid

1) Follow the directions for making an Escher-type tessellation piece by rotation around midpoints. In this case, use an equilateral triangle as your polygon. (No special restrictions are needed on the line design.)

2) Take the piece you have created, and trace out the tessellation on a piece of paper until you have four pieces drawn out in a larger equilateral triangle as shown below. Again, you should faintly trace out the sides of the underlying triangle.

3) Cut out the "larger triangle" formation, and fold along the sides of the original triangle to make a pyramid. (If you are gluing the sides together, be sure to cut some tabs.) Add detail and color as you wish, then tape or glue the sides of the pyramid together.
